Biodiversity and sustainability are a central prerequisite for human health, food safety and security. The Millennium Ecosystem Assessment analysis how ecosystems provide services for human development, how diversity contributes to ecosystem services and how human responses may threaten ecosystems. The chapter on farming methods also analyses organic farming, integrated pest management, precision agriculture and GM agriculture for their effects on diversity.
